Ignitus was still waiting for Spyro to come back from Dante's Freezer. He was walking around the temple, to make sure that there were no intruders; if there were, he'd have to get rid of them.

Suddenly, he heard rustling, and footsteps; he looked about carefully.

Just as he expected; they were already trying to take back the temple. Something seemed odd to him, though; it was only three of them, and they were small. They must have come only to look. However, one of them tried to attack, recklessly charging straight at him.

He waited until it got very close to him; once it did, one swift strike from his foreleg was all it took to knock the baboon back quite a ways. It got back up, and tried to charge him again; this time, he struck with his tail, sending the baboon flying back again, only this time it had been knocked out cold. He glared at the other two; frightened, they took their reckless, unconscious comrade, and ran away.

He gave a small grin; it was one of both victory and relief. He had not expected it to be so easy; he thought it would have taken more effort on his part, but perhaps he wasn't giving himself enough credit; perhaps he wasn't quite as worn out as he thought he was.

"Looks like I still have some fight in me..."

He started walking towards the training room, since he had looked throughout the entire temple; he lay down, and continued to wait for Spyro to return.
ZOMG, I'm actually capable of writing something that pays attention to something other than Ignitus's fatherly side O.O????? No way!

Well, this idea was in part inspired by :iconscarabdynasty1: a while back(though she doesn't even know it XD). She had told me that I should also pay attention to the other sides of Ignitus, too; and so I did :). Even though the biggest part of him is the part of him that would make a great father(especially to Spyro =p), there definitely is more to Ignitus than that. He's also a warrior, I suppose, and judging by when he said "My time for heroics has past...", he was probably a hero as well, when he was younger at least. He does seem like the type who could be a hero :). In any case, here we have him fighting off a few enemies while Spyro is away; as you can see, he's harsh on himself and thinks he's weak, but in fact he's actually still got plenty of strength left.

Speaking of Strength, I couldn't come up with a title for this, so I asked a couple of friends to help; Dragran ended up coming up with the title Strength, so there we have it :D. Dragran deserves credit for the title. :iconbleedingraptorclaw: helped too :D.

In any case, this one is probably my shortest so far XD. I mean... the author's comments are just as big, if not bigger, than the fic itself XD.

Anyway... was this one good at all XD? I'm not sure, I guess I tried to picture how Ignitus would feel about his fighting skills?

Why is it that I always seem to feel like I'm forgetting to say something in the author's comments...?

Of course, Ignitus still has strength in him. How do you think he defeats the aliens? XD</inside joke>

Although it's pretty much implied, I think you're forgetting to mention Ignitus' colour in your comment. >_>
